Wooroonooran Rainforest Safari ex Cairns

Travel with an experienced naturalist guide to explore World Heritage listed Wooroonooran National Park and other surrounding attractions. Wooroonooran National Park is located approximately 30 minute drive south of Cairns city. This is an area of unsurpassed beauty which contains the two tallest mountains in Queensland, numerous rivers, waterfalls, swimming holes and ancient rainforests. First visit is Kuranda Rainforestation Wildlife Park. A series of elevated boardwalks provide close-up and uninterrupted views of the Australian animals and reptiles. Hand feed the free roaming kangaroos and wallabies in the landscaped gardens, observe the carnivorous tiger quoll, the endangered cassowary, huge crocodiles, see wombats and view local snakes. Then head to Curtain Fig Tree, one of the largest trees in Tropical North Queensland and best known attractions on the Atherton Tableland before enjoying lunch at Gallo Daiyland. After lunch arrive at Mamu Canopy Walk and experience one of Australia`s grandest man-made structures in a natural environment. With its combination of a canopy walk high in the tree tops, an observation tower and view decks, take in the exhilarating vistas of the Johnstone River gorge and surrounding landscapes. Visit Josephine Falls which is a secluded freshwater swimming hole located at the foot of Queensland`s tallest mountain, Mt Bartle Frere (1622m), where a series of waterfalls flow into large pools surrounded by boulders. Rainforest trees hang over the water, keeping it cool and refreshing for an inviting swim. Take a short walk to a series of cascading waterfalls and take a plunge in the exciting natural rockslide. Tour concludes at approximately 6.00pm, at which time hotel drop offs will commence.
